I have a very small flock of Copper Black Marans chickens. In addition to their fabulously dark eggs, Marans are a very good dual purpose breed, great for homesteads and backyard flocks.
My girls lay some very beautiful dark eggs. I strive for the French Standard in conformation - however, my chickens have only lightly feathered legs, as opposed to heavily feathered (I don't personally like feathered legs because they get full of mud in the winter!) My Marans come from Wade Jeane lines and a few from Ron Presley through breeders such as Donna Gerhke and Linda Hamid who breed these lines - and I have added some birds from pure Bev Davis line from Heaven Sent Ranch.
Chicks are "pick-up" only at my house or I can meet you in Milton Freewater or Walla Walla.
